Pitchers are athletes first, and that includes fielding your position. The closed-basket web conceals all standard grips. The pocket is medium-depth because pitchers need to read the ball quickly on comebackers — deeper pockets are for fielders, not for the mound. Weight is managed through Japanese Kip — when you've thrown 100 pitches, every ounce on your glove hand matters.
